There she goes..........Miss North Carolina-USA 

Jacqueline Padgette was crowned "Miss North Carolina-USA" at the state finals held in Greensboro in 1989. Jackie also received the "most photogenic" award. She went on to represent North Carolina and competed against 50 other contestants for the national title, "Miss USA" which was held in Mobile, Alabama. At the Miss USA pageant, which is a preliminary for the "Miss Universe" pageant, Jackie finished 11th in the overall competition. During her year as "Miss North Carolina-USA", Jackie represented our state as an ambassador, making over 200 guest appearances throughout the state and entire East coast. Highlights included: * Guest commentary for the Internationally televised "Miss Florida-USA" pageant * Award presentation for the Nationally televised "Beach Music awards show" *Guest speaker for the "just say no" campaign in the public school systems *Ambassador for various NASCAR events. In 1984 Jackie was crowned "Miss Roanoke Rapids", which is a preliminary for the "Miss America" pageant. At the state level, Jackie won the swimsuit competition, bringing home the "Betty Lane Evans swimsuit award". During this time period, Jackie also worked as a fashion model for many national print campaigns. Jackie is the daughter of Julian and Mary Ellen Padgette of Hobgood. She graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Textiles and Design in 1989. She lives in Raleigh and is the Mother of Nicole and John Moore. Currently, Jackie is a residential real estate broker with Remax One/Marti Hampton team-the top team in the Carolinas. She is also an Interior Designer, having recently worked on an award-winning entry in the Wake County "Parade of Homes".
